Change is hard. It’s uncomfortable and puts us at dis-ease. The older brother in the parable of the Prodigal Son was filled with anger at his father’s ability to forgive his younger brother. There’s an important lesson for the church to learn from the self-righteous attitude of the older brother when it comes to change and worshiping with people who don’t look like, think, or act like us.
